Accessibility Statement
Maison Lazy Days is committed to making this site usable by everyone, whatever the device, the browser or the assistive technology in front of it.
Our commitment
We make the same promise online that we make in our boutiques: that anyone may come in, look properly at what we have made, and be helped without fuss. A site that cannot be read with a screen reader, or navigated without a mouse, does not keep that promise.
Accessibility is treated here as part of the craft rather than a compliance exercise. It is considered when a page is designed, checked when it is built, and reviewed again whenever we change something substantial.
Conformance status
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. At the date of this statement we consider the site partially conformant: most of it meets the standard, and the parts that do not are listed below under known limitations.
The statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by our own team in April 2026, together with an independent audit of the home page, product listing, product detail, basket and checkout journeys. It covers maisonlazydays.com in all languages.
What we have done
- Every page can be operated from the keyboard alone, in a logical order, with a visible focus ring on each control.
- A "Skip to content" link is the first thing a keyboard or screen-reader user meets on every page.
- Headings follow a single, meaningful outline; landmarks mark the header, navigation, main content and footer.
- Text and interface colours are checked against the WCAG contrast minimum of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and controls.
- Photographs that carry meaning have alternative text; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Form fields have permanent, visible labels — never placeholder text alone — and errors are announced in words, not colour alone.
- Expandable panels, menus and dialogs report their state through ARIA and can be closed with the Escape key.
- Animation is suppressed for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion, and nothing on the site flashes.
- Layouts reflow to a single column and remain usable at 400 per cent zoom, without horizontal scrolling.
Assistive technology we support
The site is tested against the following combinations, which we regard as supported. Other combinations are likely to work but are not tested at every release.
- NVDA with Firefox and with Chrome, on Windows 11.
- JAWS with Chrome and with Edge, on Windows 11.
- VoiceOver with Safari, on macOS and on iOS.
- TalkBack with Chrome, on Android.
- Dragon NaturallySpeaking for voice control, on Windows.
- Browser zoom to 400 per cent, operating-system text scaling, and Windows High Contrast Mode.
- Keyboard-only and switch-device navigation.
Known limitations
We would rather name these than let you find them. Each is being worked on, and this list is revised as items are resolved.
- Boutique map. The interactive map on the boutique pages is supplied by a third party and cannot be fully operated by keyboard. Every boutique's address, telephone number and opening hours are also given as plain text on the same page, and directions can be requested from client care.
- Older campaign films. Films published before 2025 have no captions or audio description. New films are captioned at publication; the archive is being captioned in date order.
- Size guides in PDF. A small number of size and care guides are older PDFs without a tagged reading order. Accessible HTML versions are being written; in the meantime client care will read any measurement to you.
- Payment step. The card fields at checkout are rendered inside our payment provider's secure frame, whose markup we cannot alter. We have raised the focus-order and labelling issues with them and are tracking the fix.
- Main menu on hover. The desktop category menu opens on hover as well as on focus; on a touch device the first tap opens the menu rather than following the link. All the same categories are reachable from the mobile menu and from the footer.
If something is in your way
If any part of this site prevents you doing what you came to do, please tell us. We treat these messages as faults, not suggestions, and we will help you complete your purchase or your request by another route in the meantime — by telephone, by e-mail, or with a client advisor in a boutique.
Write to accessibility@maisonlazydays.com or use our contact form, choosing "Request for assistance". Telephone +39 011 4820 118, Monday to Friday 9.00 – 18.30 CET and Saturday 10.00 – 17.00 CET.
Please tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you were using — it lets us reproduce the problem quickly. We acknowledge every message within two working days and aim to give a substantive answer, or a date for a fix, within ten.
Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer the matter to the accessibility supervisory body in your country. Within the European Union this right arises under the European Accessibility Act and the national law implementing it; in the United Kingdom, under the Equality Act 2010. We will supply the relevant contact details on request.
Technical specification
Accessibility of this site relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and JavaScript. Where JavaScript is unavailable, content and navigation remain readable, although expandable panels display in full rather than collapsing.
This statement was prepared on 14 April 2026 and last reviewed on 2 July 2026.
