Price on enquiry

An ivory cotton so fine you can see the check of its own weave when it is held to the light. Small red buti are scattered across the field, a soft red line runs the length of the border, and the pallu carries a large gold-and-red floral worked in extra weft. The end is finished with white pom-poms.

There is no card payment on this site yet. Adding to the bag composes a WhatsApp enquiry to AHA — which is how this category actually buys and sells in Bharat.

The weave

The motifs are woven in, not printed — an extra weft thread carried across only where the pattern needs it and cut away behind. That is the technique the jamdani family of weaves is built on, and it is why the reverse of the pallu looks nothing like the front.

No Handloom Mark, Silk Mark or GI status is recorded for this piece. AHA has not confirmed one, so none is claimed.
